This policy explains, in plain English, what information My Scholarship Scout collects and how we use it.

What information you may submit

We only collect information you choose to submit through forms on the site (such as deadline alert signups, sponsor inquiries, and claim listing requests). We do not require accounts to browse or save scholarships.

Saved scholarships

Scholarships you save are stored in your browser's local storage on your device. We do not transmit your saved list to our servers unless accounts and sync are added later and you explicitly opt in.

Deadline alert email signups

If deadline alerts are enabled and you choose to sign up, we collect your email address and optional preferences (student level, state, field, deadline month, frequency). We use this only to send you relevant scholarship deadline reminders and application tips. You can unsubscribe at any time. We do not collect phone numbers or sensitive personal data.

Sponsor inquiry submissions

When an organization submits a sponsor inquiry, we collect the organization name, contact name, work email, website, sponsorship interest, and any message you include. We use this information to respond and evaluate sponsorship fit.

Claim listing submissions

Claim requests include contact info and the requested change. We use this only to verify the request and review it before any updates are made.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell individual student data.
  • We do not sell saved scholarship lists.
  • We do not sell personal search history.
  • We do not share email addresses with sponsors.

Sponsor reporting

Sponsors of claimed, featured, state, or field placements may receive aggregate reporting (such as page views, official-source clicks, saves, and broad category interest). Aggregate reporting never includes personally identifying information.
